Attempted carjacking at Costco results in crash.

An attempted carjacking in the Costco parking lot on Via Princessa in Canyon Country ended up in a traffic accident that snarled Friday night traffic with the suspects fleeing the scene.

According to Lt. Les Sutton of the Santa Clarita station, at approximately 7:35 p.m., a woman was approached by two male Hispanics brandishing a sawed-off shotgun who forced her out of her Infinity G35.

The suspects got into the car and left the parking lot, but crashed the Infinity into another car at Via Princessa and Vista del Canon.
Deputies searched for the suspects, who fled on foot, using both air and ground units, but they were unable to locate them.

The victim was unharmed. Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to call the sheriff’s department at 255-1121.
