Bryce Laspisa Remains Missing After Eight Years, Family Stays Hopeful He Will Be Found

Missing person Bryce Laspisa was last seen eight years ago in Castaic, and his family remains hopeful that he will still be found.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators and family members of Laspisa are still asking for the public’s help locating him.

In 2013, Laspisa was driving from Placer County to Orange County to see his parents, however, he never made it to their house.

Laspisa’s parents called their then-19-year-old son as he was driving home from Northern California where he attended college. He told them he was driving on the 5 Freeway, but could not see any signs indicating exactly where he was, said Karen Laspisa, Bryce’s mother in a previous KHTS article.

“He took a detour at 2:08 a.m. and got off the I-5 in a suburban area and was going to sleep in his car,” his mother said in a previous KHTS story. “I told him to call me when he got up the next morning.”

However, Karen Laspisa said that her son did not call back in the morning, and hasn’t made any contact with his parents since that last phone call.

Laspisa’s car was located between 4:20 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. by law enforcement officials, who had arrived at Castaic Lake for a training exercise. The vehicle was found 15 feet down a ravine on its passenger side.

“They found his cell phone, wallet with all of his credit cards, laptop and all of his clothing in the car,” Laspisa’s mother said.

Since that date, there have been alleged sightings, but no verified trace of Laspisa has been found.

Laspisa was last seen in Kern County Aug. 30, 2013, at approximately 2:08 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since, according to Sheriff’s officials.

At the time of his disappearance, Laspisa was 19 years old and stood 5’11” tall, weighing 170 lbs with red hair and blue eyes. He was wearing white cargo shorts, a blue/white checkered shirt and white/red Nike shoes, and has a tattoo on his left arm/shoulder area.

His loved ones are still very worried and are hopeful and asking for the public’s help locating him.

A page on Facebook called “Find Bryce Laspisa” is dedicated to sharing possible sightings and organizing events to find him.

Anyone with any information from 2013 or sooner that could help investigators locate Bryce can call (323) 890-5500.

  1. I am praying Bryce will be found safe..
Your family is heavy on my heart.

  2. I am still keeping the whole family in my prayers

  3. Last year a guy with the same exact tattoo and same description but seemed to be closer to 6ft was seen within two miles of my house walking down a road tomj hitch in Columbia Tennessee. I didn’t have any idea who this guy was and I pulled over on the side of the road and asked him if he needed a ride. He had a big black duffle bag over his right shoulder. And I thought it was super weird that he would not want a ride but continue to walk with this big bag looked like clothes. I couldn’t help but think he had beautiful white teeth and his demeanor was more along the line as relaxed, chill, and just walking on the road. The reason this is very odd, that I have never seen anyone walk down tom j hitch because everyone from here would never walk on that road because it is the most dangerous road in my home town. I have never seen him after that and this nextflix series of missing people came on and I could not believe the resemblance. I never seen him again and posted it on the Find Bryce FB. The man I encountered was very calm and relaxed and seemed like he was going somewhere and didn’t want anyone to know so I let him be. I hope you find him and seeing that guy walk on Tom j hitch walking with a big black bag was very odd because I have never seen anyone walk on that road in my 38years living here. Not saying it has not happened before but I never seen it.

  4. I am just so confused by why his parents would not go to him, after he had been sitting at a gas station for over 8 hours. That would be a clear indication to me that something was wrong. Hindsight is something, but at that moment, I would have been out the door, especially since it seems he was only a few hours from home at that point. Sad story, I could not imagine not knowing what happened to my child.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
