California Highway Patrol officials received a call about a silver Volkswagen Jetta that drove into a freeway construction closure on the 5 Northbound, south of Highway 2 in Glendale.
Witnesses indicated the driver, identified by CHP officers only as a woman, appeared disoriented as she entered the onramp. The woman was described as a 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 115 pounds, white female, who was not identified pending her evaluation and release from the hospital.
A witness attempted to contact the driver around 10:20 p.m. Monday, but the driver fled the scene in the Jetta, according to CHP reports.
CHP officers located the vehicle and attempted an enforcement stop around 10:40 p.m., however the driver did not stop for officers, and the pursuit ensued.

As a result of the PIT maneuver, the Jetta spun around, and was facing south in the northbound lanes.
Officers then contacted the driver, and transported her to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
The incident closed the 5 northbound for approximately 40 minutes, and all traffic was diverted off the freeway at Parker Road.
