The City of Santa Clarita is asking dirt bike riders to stay out of the Haskell Canyon Bike Park construction zone, saying unauthorized riding is already causing damage and slowing down progress.

In a social media post Monday, city officials said motorized vehicles are not allowed inside the active construction area and warned that riding there is setting the project back.
“[It’s] actively damaging the park, delaying its opening and impacting the quality of the facility for everyone who is excited to use it,” the city said. “The trails and riding features are carefully shaped and compacted, and unauthorized riding is destroying progress.”
Officials explained that the trails are still being built and need time to properly set, meaning riding on them too early can undo a lot of work.
The city is also making it clear there could be consequences for those who ignore the rules.
“Violations will be enforced to the fullest extent of the law,” the post stated.
The City of Santa Clarita broke ground on Haskell Canyon Bike Park in June 2025. The area is located at 21450 Copper Hill Dr., within the Haskell Canyon Open Space.

While the project has hit some setbacks, officials say they’re still excited to eventually open the park to the community.
“We look forward to welcoming riders once the park is complete — help us keep it in great shape for opening day,” the city added.
Once completed, the park is expected to include about 15 miles of cross-country, climbing and downhill trails, all set against sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.
The Haskell Canyon Bike Park was initially expected to open in December 2025, but an official opening date has not yet been announced.
