Dig Deep Theatre is set to host its second annual Dig Deep Dash 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 7, at West Creek Park in Santa Clarita, with proceeds supporting the remount of a production lost in the Main Fire in August.
More than 100 runners and walkers from the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond are expected to participate in the event, which will benefit Dig Deep Theatre following the fire that destroyed The Main and took the theater company’s most recent production with it.
Proceeds will go toward remounting You Got Older by Clare Barron.
The chip-timed event will feature a fast course along the San Francisquito Creek Trail. The race will take place rain or shine, and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
Race-day registration and check-in will begin at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m.
All participants will receive a sustainably produced medal. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male, female and nonbinary runners, as well as for the best costume.
Early-bird registration costs $35, plus processing fees. The entry fee increases to $45 at midnight on Oct. 7.
