Extremely Quirky Destinations For Santa Clarita Families To Visit – L.A. Zoo Animal Aglow

As the Christmas season unfolds, families seeking a quirky holiday escape should look no further than the L.A. Zoo Animal Aglow.

Get ready for an exciting journey with KHTS as we continue our multi-part series, unveiling the most extraordinary and thrilling destinations for Santa Clarita residents to explore on their quirky getaway.

In the 85th part of the series, we will go to the L.A. Zoo Animal Aglow at Griffith Park.

The L.A. Zoo offers a fantastic experience for families and couples alike, providing guests with a unique and vibrant way to explore its festive lights.

Building on the success of last year, the outcome is a lively and captivating route that honors the zoo’s native animals—animated lantern figures of owls, butterflies, parrots, and scorpions. The flowers and plants are the main attractions, particularly against the backdrop of the golden light from the bison pasture.

: 400;”>The seasonal walk-through experience includes two VIP events and a handful of community and theme nights.

The first VIP event, Holiday Happy Hour, begins Thursday, Dec. 19 and is exclusive to those 21 and over. The theme for the night is ugly holiday sweaters, so attendees are encouraged to pull out their favorite Grinch sweater for the evening.

Along with entry to the L.A. Zoo, VIP guests will have access to a private lounge from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. with a themed photo opportunity.

To pair with that, there will be spiked coffee with Irish cream or peppermint schnapps, spiked te de canela, and fresh sugar cookies.

For a more family-friendly VIP event, guests and their kids can head to the Zoo on New Year’s Eve. This experience includes a buffet dinner, dancing, a New Year toast, and a live Times Square ball drop broadcast.

Some community and theme nights include Holiday Pajama Weekend and Sensory-Inclusive Zoo Night.
