Extremely Quirky Destinations For Santa Clarita Residents To Visit – Beetle House

Why take the family to a boring dinner like Olive Garden when there are a slew of unusual destinations, like the Beetle House in Los Angeles, waiting to be discovered?

In the fourteenth part of a multi-part series, KHTS uncovers unusual destinations Santa Clarita families can travel to for their “quirky” getaway.

If you are a fan of the hit 80’s film “Beetlejuice” or just a big fan of Halloween then Beetle House is the perfect dinner spot for you.

Beetle House is a Halloween-themed year around inspired by horror culture, magic and the artistic, literary and cinematic works of Tim Burton, Alfred Hitchcock, Bram Stoker, Washington Irving, Edgar Allen Poe, and many more.

“We are a safe place where every goth, punk, freak, weirdo, artist, and visitor is welcomed and celebrated,” states the Beetle House website.

At the Beetle House, you can order signature cocktails like the Beetle’s Juice or the Bio-Exorcism.

To eat you can get Franken Fries, the Edward Burger-Hands or the Black Dahlia Burger.

For a dessert that’s to die for you can order the Red Death, or Poison Berry lemon bars and a number of other items.

Reservations are not required but they are highly suggested.

The concept for a year-long Halloween-themed restaurant first surfaced in 2016 in New York City by Zach Neil.

Originally it was a pop-up restaurant but gained popularity so it became permanent.

After the success in New York City, one opened in California in 2017 and has been going strong ever since.

  1. I wanted to express my frustration over the opening line of your recent article regarding places to eat. Using this as an opportunity to negatively impact Olive Garden was unnecessary and in bad taste.
Although it’s true that there may be places to eat that are themed or focused on entertainment it makes it a different experience but doesn’t mean a meal at Olive Garden is boring.
A meal out is made special by those you share it with. It to bad the writer of the article has not had the chance to eat there with other than boring people.
In my personal opinion there is no reason to talk poorly of a business in our town just for headlines sake. It shows a lack of writing ability and creativity.
Olive Garden is owed an apology and maybe even a couple of free ads.
Please know that I do not work there nor do I know anyone who does. I am just a long time follower of KHTS.

I look forward to a response and to hear how you will make this right.

Hi Linda….thanks for your input and defense of the Olive Garden.

Our writer did write that it was “boring” but did that to point out the two extremes between a franchise restaurant and a unique themed restaurant. There are many excellent restaurants in Santa Clarita including the Olive Garden just as there are many fabulous restaurants in our valley that are locally owned.

I will place your comment and my answer on line in the comments below our story.

  2. Always got to have a Karen around to comment.
