Extremely Quirky Destinations For Santa Clarita Residents To Visit – Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel

Why limit a train to just transportation when there are a slew of unusual destinations, like the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel, waiting to be discovered?

In the thirty-fourth part of a multi-part series, KHTS uncovers unusual destinations Santa Clarita families can visit for their “quirky” getaway.

This week takes us to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Important historical locations, particularly those connected to the Civil War and the railroad business, can be found in Chattanooga.

One of the most unique hotels in America is currently located in downtown Chattanooga, and it all started with a 1941 Glenn Miller song.

Currently, visitors can choose to stay in the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel‘s historic Terminal Station in the distinctively styled Pullman Train Cars located within the MacArthur building.

The Pullman suites are housed inside rail cars that date back to the 1930s, but those who want a more traditional hotel stay can stay in the MacArthur building.

Within the hotel, there are a number of different restaurants, including the Parlor and Patio, which serves French-Belgian cuisine and the Courtyard, which is engulfed in trees, bushes and fire pits to keep guests warm.

Outside of the hotel and into the city of Chattanooga, Station Street is the hub for all entertainment.

Travelers can discover great cuisine and drinks, live music and comedy, plus lots of dancing, all within a short distance of one another.

One of the unique things about Station Street is that it’s one of two places in Tennessee that allow open containers on the street.

Guests can grab a drink from the bar and mosey on down to the festivities.

For those who want a more relaxing experience, the Glenn Miller Gardens is the perfect place.

As they stroll around the gardens, visitors are welcome to pause and smell the roses.

Or guests can unwind in a rocking chair while playing games like bocce ball, corn hole, Jenga, or life-sized checkers!

The Glenn Miller Gardens is a wonderful haven amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

  1. Next up, a tour of rustic outhouses of the deep South!

  2. I don’t see anything about the Chattanooga Choo Choo’s holiday garden art installation in this article. I think it’s worth a mention. Definitely an awesome photo op for travelers. It’s a huge, one of a kind LED snowflake sculpture, with giant crystals. My family loved it.
