With the new year underway, Santa Clarita families looking for something different may want to venture beyond their usual weekend plans and head to Yorba Linda.
The Richard Nixon Library and Museum is the latest destination featured in the 140th installment of the KHTS series.
The museum features 22 unique spaces that incorporate multimedia and interactive technologies.
Visitors begin their journey in the Malek Theater with a 13-minute orientation film before entering the permanent galleries, starting with the “Wave of Change” gallery, which explores the social and political upheaval of the 1960s and the events leading up to the November 1968 presidential election.
Guests then travel through President Nixon’s presidency and resignation before returning to his roots in the “Back to the Beginning” gallery, which highlights his early life and the accomplishments that led to him becoming the 37th President of the United States.
The experience concludes with Nixon’s post-presidency years and his role as an elder statesman, his impact on American culture, a remembrance of Mr. and Mrs. Nixon’s memorial services, and a short “Epilogue” film.
Throughout the museum, visitors can explore all aspects of Nixon’s history, including Watergate, life in the White House, the 1972 campaign, and his farewell speech and departure from office.
