First Responders Children’s Foundation Hosts Appreciation Day For So-Cal Heroes

In response to the Southern California wildfires, the First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF)—a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the children of U.S. first responders— hosted a Los Angeles First Responder Family Appreciation Day at Dodger Stadium to honor those who bravely fought the fires.

The event, held Tuesday afternoon, is a tribute to the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, EMTs, corrections officers, and 911 dispatchers who risked everything to protect their communities.

“We need to say thank you and show our gratitude not only to the first responders that lost a home but all the first responders that worked and are still working to keep this city safe,” said Jillian Crane, CEO of First Responders Children’s Foundation.

Among the hundreds in attendance was L.A. County Firefighter Jake Saucedo, who lost his home in the Eaton Fire. “I was off duty, so I was, unfortunately, there to witness the whole thing,” Saucedo shared in an interview with CBS. Tragically, his in-laws also lost their home as well.

LAPD officer Gloria Clark faced a similar ordeal, losing her home and having to evacuate her family from Altadena to safety.

This heartfelt event was made possible through the generosity of SERVPRO, The Ahlsten Foundation, INFINITI, Good360, GOVX, GQG Partners, Smiling Rocks, Life-Assist, Jazwares, Spin Master, iHeartIMPACT, and JPMorgan Chase.

By bringing first responder families together, FRCF ensures that those who sacrifice for others are recognized, supported, and celebrated.
