Free Thanksgiving Dinners To Be Given To Canyon Country Families

The nonprofit LoveSCV has teamed up with community partners for “Give a Turkey,” a resource for providing full Thanksgiving meals to Canyon Country families this year, according to officials.

“We are working with Real Life, The Sanctuary and LoveSCV to put on the second annual Give a Turkey event, which serves families in need in all schools in Canyon Country,” said Susan Christopher, executive director of LoveSCV.

This is the second year LoveSCV has collaborated with community partners to provide Thanksgiving dinners, and they are looking to expand.

“Last year it served 230 families, and our goal this year is 500 families,” Christopher said. “The event provides a full Thanksgiving meal for each family.”

Santa Clarita residents interested in contributing to the Give a Turkey event can either donate a turkey, pack a meal or give a monetary donation, according to event organizers.

Food donations are set to be accepted at Golden Valley High School on Nov. 17 between 1 and 2:30 p.m.
