The Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade once again hit the streets of SCV Tuesday morning.
The 91st annual SCV Parade kicked off at around 9 a.m. Tuesday, with motor officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) leading the way.
Grand Marshalls Dennis and Pamela Verner, sponsored by Burrtec Waste Industries, lead the parade with an opening welcome by the West Ranch High School Drumline.
The United States Forest Service also drove by with a national celebrity, Smokey the Bear.
Later on in the event, the KHTS vintage fire truck made its way down Main Street with Santa Clarita Grocery, which was recently named California Non-Profit of the Year for 2023.
Local dignitaries at various levels attended the parade, including County Supervisor Kathryne Barger and Santa Clarita City Mayor Jason Gibbs.
Also in attendance were Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna and Captain Justin Diaz of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, serving our community.
Senator Scott Wilk was escorted by Darth Vader and stormtroopers of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars fan costuming group dedicated to movie-quality cosplay.
