“This event has turned into a signature event for our city,” said City Councilman Bob Kellar. “What a great way to kick off a holiday period and Christmas. Look at all of the thousands of people. I’m just so thrilled to have this happen here in our city and so proud of our community coming together and celebrating the holidays and Christmas.”

The cast of “A Christmas Story,” from the Canyon Theater Guild, performed first. Next was the acapella group “The Men of Harmony,” a men’s senior club dedicated to song. Lastly to perform was the “Hart High Choir,” a group of teens from Hart High School singing holiday music.

  1. The ceremony was great, but I believe we could do better. I sort of missed the lighting. I was in line for the food trucks. There was no announcement, nor count down.

It would have been way better had we dimmed or turned off all the lights in the area just for a few minutes leading up to the lighting. Also, a louder count down would have been good too.
