A man was found dead in a Canyon Country field Monday night near Oak Tree Liquor, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.

The body of the man, believed to be a transient, was found around 8 p.m. in a field behind the 19600 block of Soledad Canyon Road, according to Sgt. Lopez with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics shortly after, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.
“The call came in as a cardiac arrest,” said Vanessa Lozano, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “There wasn’t a transport.”
Lopez confirmed that no foul play was suspected in the death, and deputies are not investigating the incident as a homicide.
