After crashing into a gate in Newhall, one person was transported to Henry Mayo Hospital to undergo further medical attention following CPR from paramedics.

The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on the 24500 block of Lyons Avenue and Walnut Street in Newhall and is said to have been caused by a medical emergency the driver had been experiencing, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff deputies on the scene.

The driver, a male adult, was seen receiving CPR on the sidewalk for multiple minutes before being rushed to Henry Mayo Hospital.

After searching the vehicle, deputies found no evidence that it was drug or alcohol-related.

The status of the driver is currently unknown.
