Planning Commission, Public To Tour Sand Canyon Country Club

The Santa Clarita planning commission and City staff are expected to tour the Sand Canyon Country Club site Tuesday as part of the proposed development to the property, officials said.

“This is part of the process for the (environmental impact report),” said Hai Nguyen, associate planner for the City’s planning division. “We wanted to give the planning commission, and any other interested party, an opportunity to tour the site.”

Several factors are considered for environmental impact reports, including air quality, greenhouse gas emissions and noise, according to officials.

The tour is open to the public, and is expected to last about a half hour, Nguyen said.

Those wishing to meet the tour at the Sand Canyon Country Club should meet the group at about 4:30 p.m., Nguyen said.

The tour offers an opportunity for City officials and the public to gain a better understanding of the goals of the project and to assess the potential impact of the project.

Nguyen clarified that there would be no accompanying presentation at the time of the tour.

According to the summarized project description within the NOP, several buildings and outdoor areas would be constructed if the project were to be completed. The new additions include the following:

  1. Will a section be open for the homeless?

    • yeah, the homeless will be designated behind the property where Hazmat staff will greet them with high powered hoses.

      • Well Kristina, Does that comment make you feel superior and proud of yourself?
What an absolutely disgusting thing to say about the disadvantaged. Does that follow your religious beliefs? You may be headed for big trouble when your time is up.
