Relay For Life To Host Fundraiser At Central Park

Relay for Life of Santa Clarita Valley is set to host their annual fundraiser at Central Park Saturday to celebrate cancer survivors and remember loved ones who lost their battle with cancer.  

The Relay for Life event is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Central Park on soccer fields 5 and 6 towards the end of the park.

“Relay For Life is the world’s largest volunteer-based fundraising event and the largest cancer-fighting movement,” officials said. “In 2023, Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley commemorates 25 years of fighting cancer by celebrating cancer survivors and caregivers, remembering loved ones lost and fighting back against cancer through fundraising and a whole lot of fun for all ages.”

Central Park is located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
