Santa Clarita City Council Set To Discuss 2028 Summer Olympics

The City of Santa Clarita is scheduled to host its regular meeting on Tuesday night to discuss various topics, such as the 2028 Summer Olympics.

On Tuesday night, the City of Santa Clarita is scheduled to hold its regular meeting where the council is expected to consider an appointment to fill the vacancy of the Santa Clarita Planning Commission due to the recognition of Dennis Ostrom.

Ostrom served as a member of the Planning Commission from 1998 until his resignation and was appointed to the commission by Councilmember Laurene Weste.

Other items on the agenda include appointments of two city council members and one alternate to serve on the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympics Games Ad Hoc Committee formed at the Sept. 10 city council meeting.

In addition, the council is set to discuss the Shadow Pines/ Tick Canyon project that is mostly located outside the city limits of Santa Clarita under the purview of Los Angeles County.
