Santa Clarita Native Set To Be In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition

West Ranch graduate and  “Socially Well” podcast co-host Mady Dewey has made it into the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

In 2022 Dewey won the Sports Illustrated Swim Search and is now a rookie in the 2023 edition.

“I can’t even describe how it feels to be a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie,” said Dewey in an interview with Plicker. “Like I say it out loud, and I still don’t fully recognize that that’s what’s happening right now. It’s an honor.”

The current location for Dewey’s swimsuit photo shoot is in Puerto Rico, where she is working alongside photographer Ben Watts.

Also appearing alongside Dewey are Jasmine Sanders, Georgina Burke, Marquita Pring and Lorena Durán.

Besides modeling and being a part of the podcast “Socially Well,” Dewey is a product marketing manager for the instant-messaging platform Discord, as well as the CEO and co-founder of the social media app Herd.

Herd was first made for women and non-binary persons.

Dewey points out on Herd’s Instagram page that all of the popular daily-use apps were developed by men, while Herd was developed by a women-led crew.

Dewey is actively attempting to alter the way women are frequently ignored and underpaid in the IT industry through Herd.
