‘Saugus Strong Vigil’ To Honor Victims, Families After Saugus Shooting

The “Saugus Strong Vigil” is to be held in honor of those injured and killed as the result of the Saugus High shooting.

The Santa Clarita Community, Santa Clarita City Council, William S. Hart Union High School District, the Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition, public safety officials, and other community organizations are set to hold the “Saugus Strong Vigil” on Sunday at Santa Clarita Central Park and begin at 7 p.m.

The vigil is in response to Thursday’s shooting at Saugus High School.

The shooting sent five innocent students to various hospitals, as well as the shooter after a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Two of the students have passed since the shooting, as well as the gunman who succumbed to his injuries.

Santa Clarita residents and others are encouraged to send supportive messages to the students and families close to the shooting through the Saugus Strong site

These messages are displayed on the site along with the location of where the support is coming from, to show support from around the world.

The Saugus Strong site also features resources including the suicide prevention hotline, the number for Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and more.
