Following a charity golf tournament, the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association raised and donated $10,000 for the local non-profit Santa Clarita Grocery.
On Wednesday, the SCV Bar Association President Jeff Armendariz and the board presented Santa Clarita Grocery with a check for $10,000, money that was raised by the first annual golf tournament at the beginning of the month.
“I’m blown away,” said Santa Clarita Grocery Director Bradly Grose. “Even $2,000 to us is a lot.”
The charity tournament was put on by the bar association as a part of its effort to raise money for various charities in the city, including a blood drive, toy drive and high school speech competition.
The board was given a tour of the inside of SC Grocery on Center Pointe Parkway before handing Grose a large foam check.
When asked what the money would go towards, Grose explained it would go towards their general funds for buying food products, but especially towards fresh dairy.
