The Sweat Shack Closes Saugus, Newhall Locations After A Decade In Santa Clarita

After 10 years of offering sauna bathing experiences to the Santa Clarita Valley, The Sweat Shack has closed both its Saugus and Newhall locations, marking the end of an era for the local wellness business.

In an email sent to customers last week, The Sweat Shack owners Mark and Jenifer announced the Saugus location’s final day of operation was Saturday, August 9.

While the Newhall shop had already closed earlier this year, the Saugus closure marks the full departure of the brand from SCV.

“After 10 wonderful years of serving this incredible community, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of our Saugus location,” the owners wrote. “Over the years, it has been our honor to serve and educate you in the true art of sauna bathing across our two SCV locations.”

The owners expressed gratitude for the loyalty and friendships built over the years, and said they are committed to ensuring customers’ services and memberships are honored.

To that end, The Sweat Shack has partnered with LINEAEDGE, another local wellness boutique, which will take over all outstanding memberships, gift cards and prepaid services. The LINEAEDGE team was scheduled to meet customers at The Sweat Shack during its final two days of operation to help make the transition seamless.

“Though this chapter is closing, the spirit of sauna and community will continue on,” the email concluded.

The Sweat Shack, known for its traditional sauna experiences and community-focused approach, opened its first Santa Clarita location a decade ago, expanding to serve wellness seekers in both Saugus and Newhall before closing its doors.

  1. I know several people, myself included, who feel taken advantage of by them. They claim to be partnering with Lineaedge, but I’m starting to wonder if that’s just something they’re telling people. Sweat Shack is telling customers they don’t have sessions—despite us paying for them. They’ve also stopped responding to emails, leaving no way to resolve the issue. Lineaedge is saying they don’t have any records either. So, those of us who’ve spent hundreds of dollars are essentially out of luck. The fact that they’ve gone silent by turning off their email communications suggests they’re not planning to make this right. It’s very unethical on Mark and Jennifer’s part. It’s incredibly frustrating.

  2. I just read this today and I am in shock. I still have a few saunas paid in advance and did not receive any emails regarding them closing. So I am assuming, the new company won’t be responsible for refunds. This really sucks
