This weekend of April marks the Easter holiday, and those who celebrate can choose from a variety of events in Santa Clarita to mark the special occasion.
Easter-related Events
Sunday, April 9 marks Easter Sunday, a religious holiday celebrated by Christians. In Christina faith, it is the day Jesus Christ resurrected after the third day of his burial after crucifixion.
In Santa Clarita, many people celebrate Easter Sunday, blending the religious holiday with more commercial celebrations as well, including Easter egg hunting or awaiting the Easter bunny.
Eggstravaganza – 4/8
Central Park is set to become the hunting grounds for Easter eggs Saturday morning where kids aged 10 and under can come and search for the hidden treasures. The family-friendly hunt is set to begin at 10 a.m.
Splash and Dash Egg Hunt – 4/8
If a regular egg hunt is not challenging enough, kids can try their hand at an underwater egg hunt hosted at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center. The event is free for kids 10 and under and begins at 10 a.m.
Dragon Boat Easter EggStravaganza And BBQ – 4/8
The third eggstravaganza for Saturday is the Dragon Boat Easter Eggstravaganza at Castaic Lake. This event is hosted by the Castaic Lake Dragon Boat Community Team where games, eggs and barbecue are set to be offered. The family event is free and begins at 9:30 a.m.
Kid’s Fair –4/8
On Saturday the Kid’s Fair is set for local families to enjoy some Easter fun. Beginning at 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Activities Center, kids can come see the Easter bunny, do crafts and find eggs. Admission is free.
Spring-related Events
Gilchrist Farm’s Spring Fling – 4/8
Saturday marks the last day of the spring fling at Gilchrist Farms just past Vasquez Road on Bouquet Canyon Road. Kids can enjoy baby animals-goats, chicks, piglets and more as well as take a picture with the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts are also available and divided per age group, beginning at 10 a.m.
