VIA Connecting To Success Program Set To Be Held For Hart District Students

The Valley Industry Association (VIA) is set to hold the Connecting to Success Program this fall for more than 3,000 students in the William S. Hart Union School District.

The VIA Connecting to Success Program aims to help students prepare for the workforce and develop professional skills for a competitive job market.

The program aims to help students connect what they learn to the workplace to ensure they can apply what they are learning.

Since its inception 21 years ago, the program has consistently delivered results, establishing a curriculum covering communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and industry-specific knowledge.

While learning the curriculum, students engage in workshops and training sessions and have mentorship opportunities.

“We are thrilled to see the profound impact of the VIA Connecting to Success Program on both students and employers,” said Kathy Norris, CEO/President of VIA. “Our mission is to empower the next generation of professionals by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s dynamic workplace.”

A big part of the program’s success is its strong partnerships with local businesses and schools. In addition to offering internships and mentorships, employers also help make these programs work. They share their knowledge, personal stories, and career paths with students to show them that there are many ways to be successful in the fields they have chosen.

“Our collaboration with VIA has been instrumental in identifying and nurturing talent, said Steve Nunez, Vice President/Portfolio Manager for Mission Valley Bank. “The students we’ve worked with through the Connecting to Success Program have consistently demonstrated professionalism and readiness for the workforce.”

Schools that participate in the program have also said that it has had positive effects, such as more engaged students and a higher rate of job placement. These schools use VIA’s curriculum as part of their regular lessons to ensure that their students are ready for the changing needs of the job market.

The VIA Connecting to Success Program was made possible in part by a grant from the US Small Business Administration. VIA stated it is grateful for Congressman Mike Garcia’s strong support. The program also receives money from private grants, business donations, and individual donations. This strong and ongoing support lets VIA expand the program, ensuring that more students and employers can benefit from its effective way of developing workers.
