Waste Management officials are inviting Santa Clarita residents to recycle their Christmas trees through their curbside collection program after the holiday festivities.

The agency is set to collect Christmas trees from Dec. 26 through Jan. 12 on customers’ scheduled collection days, according to officials.

Residents living in multi-family communities serviced by Waste Management may place their trees for pick up near bins, but not inside bins or corrals, according to company officials.

When placing trees on the curbside for collection, customers are asked to follow these guidelines:

• Remove all decorations, including tinsel, lights, ornaments and tree stands.
• Place trees on the curb for recycling.
• If possible, cut trees taller than six feet in half before placing on the curb.

Residents may also drop off their tree during the same period at Waste Management’s  Residential Drop Off Center, located at 25772 Springbrook Ave. in Santa Clarita, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents are asked to check with their property manager if they are unsure about where to place their tree for collection, according to the agency.
