The inaugural “Wild for Animals” fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, May 19 at 6 p.m. at 26415 Carl Boyer Parkway.

The proceeds raised from the appetizer and cocktail party are set to go towards purchasing medical equipment to help homeless animals, according to officials.

“They have needs that they can’t fill,” said Kiza Hilton, who is co-hosting the event with her husband, Richard Hilton. “They need an ultrasound machine, they need a dental drilling machine, they need grooming supplies. They do not have the ability to purchase these things without help.”

Guests are encouraged to wear poodle skirts or animal print outfits in keeping with the event’s animal theme.

Awards are also set to be presented to local veterinarians, pet stores, rescue officials and organizations that help homeless animals in the Santa Clarita community, according to event officials.

“We’re honoring local business and individuals who made outstanding contributions to animals without homes,” said Hilton.

The Castaic Animal Care Center will also be accepting donations of new or gently-used blankets or towels, as well as cat or dog food and other miscellaneous animal supplies. The donations are set to be collected at the entrance of the event, according to officials.

Special guests are scheduled to include U.S. Congressman Steve Knight, California State Senator Scott Wilk, County of Los Angeles Animal Care and Control Director Marda Mageda and Castaic Animal Care Center Director Karen Stepp, according to officials.

Additionally, the event is set to feature over 150 auction items for guests to bid on, including three vacation packages to Orlando, Florida; Big Sky, Montana; and Sacramento, Calif.

“Homeless animals have nothing, so anything we do will make pets and animals better,” said Hilton.
Tickets are on sale now for $40, and tickets can also be bought at the event for $50. Residents can RSVP for the event at (661) 886-1116.
