Yard House is set to open a new location at the River Oaks Shopping Center in Valencia while Mimi’s Cafe announces a move.

The American restaurant chain is anticipated to construct a new building replacing the old Mimi’s Cafe location on MMagic Mountain Parkway, according to officials.

“There is an approved project that includes demo’ing the existing Mimi’s building and replacing it with a new building for Yard House,” said Jason Crawford, director of community development for the City of Santa Clarita.

Darden Restaurants, Inc., the owner of Yard House, previously applied for a liquor license in anticipation of the new location last year. 

A sign posted on the unoccupied property announced that a new location for Mimi’s Cafe is anticipated to open “within 6 months” in Valencia. However, no specific address was given, but encouraged patrons to visit the Northridge location. 

Yard House has not returned KHTS’s calls to confirm a timeline when the new restaurant will be open.
