Attendees are scheduled to learn about how income taxes are calculated, common errors and omissions that could cost money and the impact of tax law changes, as well as obtain answers to income tax questions, according to officials.
Certified Public Accountants Laura and David Troost are set to share their nearly 40 years of expertise and knowledge with the audience.
“The basics of income tax preparation, shared by our subject matter experts, will be very informative with valuable information to our attendees because of changes in the tax laws,” reads a statement from Zonta officials. “Plan to join us and be informed.”
Previous workshops in the series have helped attendees learn how to improve relationships and communicate more effectively, as well as increase feelings of self-worth, select career options and pursue meaningful employment.
Other workshops have helped women learn how to manage anger and stress, set budgets and manage money, and maintain healthy eating and exercise habits, according to Zonta officials.
“Workshops are designed to help participants believe in their unlimited power and potential, build the skills necessary to succeed and be the powerful women they are meant to be,” said Zonta officials.
The free workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Child and Family Center Education Building, located at 21545 Centre Pointe Parkway.
Participants are not required to register in advance, and Spanish translation can also be provided with advanced request.
