UPDATE: Hair salons, barbershops are scheduled to be allowed to reopen for indoor operations in Los Angeles County starting on Wednesday.
The Los Angeles County “Safer at Home” Health Officer Order was updated to allow hair salons and barbershops to resume indoor operations at 25 percent capacity starting on Wednesday, according to Supervisor Kathryn Barger.
“Options for increasing capacity will be re-evaluated three weeks after Labor Day,” said Supervisor Janice Hahn on Twitter.
On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced new health guidelines that allow indoor operations for hair salons and barbershops to start back up, with the condition that individual counties will have to approve re-opening.
Shortly after this announcement, officials with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH) said that the county-wide health order “has not been changed to permit these re-openings.”
On Wednesday, Hahn announced the modification to the health order to allow indoor operations of hair salons and barbershops.
Indoor operations for nail salons in L.A. County have not been allowed as of Tuesday.
Every county in California is assigned to a tier based on its rate of new cases and positivity, and must remain in a tier for at least three weeks before moving on to the next one. State officials say that data is reviewed weekly and tiers are updated on Tuesdays.

To move forward, a county must meet the next tier’s criteria for two consecutive weeks. If a county’s metrics get worse for two consecutive weeks, it will be assigned a more restrictive tier, according to the state.
As of Wednesday, Los Angeles County is in the highest category — Tier 1 or “widespread risk” — based on having a 10 percent positivity rate, as well as an average of 13 new cases daily per 100,000 residents.
In Tier 2, certain businesses would be able to reopen indoors with modifications and limited to 25 percent capacity.
Moving onto Tier 3, businesses are able to operate indoors at 50 percent capacity, according to the state.
At the lowest risk Tier 4, businesses are able to operate indoors with modifications, with no capacity limits listed.

Now maybe we can move on to the opening of indoor dining, as Democratic Mayor Jim Kenney got called out for his own version of “do as I say, not as I do.” The mayor has imposed a restriction against indoor dining in his city but was spotted dining indoors at a local restaurant.
Apparently they have little fear of this pandemic, what do they know?

Newsome closed the State down except for his wineries and his ruling class family as seen this week. They got caught and randomly announced the partial reopening of the one sector for which they got busted using. The Dems have been caught dozens of times violating their own rules for their personal gains. Other states are more open and successful. More closed states actual have higher numbers. I would like things to wait to open after a longer period of time to be safe and so we don’t have to go thru this again and again like we have been doing, but I also see your angle, and, like so many others, your everything requires you to get back to work to pay the bills and to put food on your table, and nothing means anything if you can’t do this ASAP! And I understand many won’t be able to come back from that financially, and my heart goes out to those in that position, believe me!!
