The Golden Valley student made a post on social media Thursday night, that made threatening comments towards a local high school student and referenced a school shooting, according to Shirey Miller, spokesperson.
“Through an extensive investigation, school resource deputies and COBRA detectives were able to identify the individual who made the post,” Miller said.
In the alleged threat, made through an Instagram direct message, a student says about another student that he “will bring an AK-47” to “kill him.”

The first message concludes by saying, “Looks like there might another school shooting. Can’t wait to kill that f***er.”
Parents called law enforcement officials after they saw a screenshot of the threat on a local Santa Clarita Facebook group.
“There were no weapons found at his house,” said Miller. “We implore you to please have the conversation with your children this weekend that making threats is no laughing matter.”
Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station officials have confirmed that the school was not on lockdown Friday, but according to students at Golden Valley, campus security checked student ID’s as they entered the campus to ensure student safety.
“It doesn’t matter if they say they were ‘just joking.’ Because of the day and age we live in, we don’t treat these matters lightly, and they will get arrested,” added Miller.
