Agua Dulce Suspect Taken Into Custody Following Pursuit

A man was arrested after leading the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on a pursuit in Agua Dulce Tuesday evening.

Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, CHP officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding, on Sierra Highway north of Agua Dulce Canyon Road, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“The driver of the vehicle initially stopped,” Burgos-Lopez said.

However, the driver refused to follow the officers’ commands to exit the vehicle then fled from the scene, according to officials.

“The CHP Officer initiated a pursuit. The driver then quickly came to a stop, up the road, at his residence where he fled on foot into a residence.” Burgos-Lopez said. “The CHP Officer chased the driver into the residence. A use-of-force incident occurred within the residence and the officer was able to take the driver into custody without further incident.”

The pursuit suspect was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital as a precaution.

Jason Richardson,  was cleared and booked into the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles for felony evading, according to Burgos-Lopez.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
