Alleged Thief Arrested For Stealing From Canyon Country Sports Store

A suspected thief with multiple warrants was arrested after he allegedly stole merchandise from a Canyon Country sports store.

Over the weekend, a man went into a Canyon Country sporting goods store, concealed around $400 in clothing items in a bag and left without paying for it, fleeing on his bicycle, said Deputy Robert Jensen, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Patrol units caught up with him fast and recovered the merchandise,” Jensen said. “The suspect was found to have prior convictions for theft. He also had theft-related warrants out for his arrest.”

Timothy Woodhead, 37, a transient and former Valencia resident, was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

This is not Woodhead’s first brush with the law in the Santa Clarita Valley, multiple articles from KHTS archives detail additional arrests dating at least as far back as 2008.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
