Two women were arrested in Saugus Tuesday for narcotics possession after deputies received reports that the pair were allegedly attempting to get into parked vehicles, officials said.
At around 12 p.m. on Dec. 3, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received a report of two women looking into the windows and trying to open the doors of parked cars on the 29900 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, according to officials.
“The call of suspicious activity prompted deputies to respond to the location immediately, where they were able to locate two female adults matching the caller’s description,” wrote Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station, in an official post Sunday.
Deputies located the pair in a parked car on the side of the road, where they noticed a bag of methamphetamine “in plain view” on the car’s center console, according to Miller.
“The women were detained for a narcotics investigation,” Miller wrote. “Deputies found narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia in the vehicle. The two suspects were identified in the field by eyewitnesses who reportedly saw the women looking into vehicles and trying door handles of vehicles.”
The two 36-year-old women, one from Palmdale and the other from San Fernando, were arrested on charges of attempted burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Miller.
Both suspects were transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
