On Thursday evening, deputies responded to an alleged report of grand theft of copper wire from a home improvement store in Santa Clarita. 

On Thursday at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a possible grand theft at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in the 19000 block of Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

About $1,000 of copper wire was stolen from the Lowe’s, Sheriff’s officials confirmed. 

Two male suspects were last seen leaving the scene in a two-door Honda Civic towards the 14 Freeway, Sheriff’s officials said. 

As of 6:45 p.m. deputies are on scene, and are investigating the grand theft.
