Canyon Country ‘Peeping Tom’ In Custody After Citizens Arrest

A Canyon Country man placed a “peeping Tom” suspect under citizen’s arrest Tuesday after the suspect was caught staring at the victim through his window, officials said.

On Tuesday around 6:30 a.m., a man and his wife, both victims, saw a male staring at them through their window on the 17000 block of Deanna Lane in Canyon Country, said Sgt. Joel Nebel, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Detective Bureau.

“The suspect was fondling his crotch area, but quickly tried to flee when he knew the victims saw him,” Nebel said.

The husband ran after the suspect and detained him until deputies responded, according to Nebel.

After an investigation, it was determined that the suspect had been peeking on the victims, according to Sheriff’s officials.

John Brumbach, 44, from Canyon Country, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, peeking into a building, Nebel added.

Brumbach was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $5,000, according to arrest records.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
