Chainsaw-Wielding Suspect Detained After Deputies Pull Over City Bus In Valencia

One suspect who reportedly was wielding a chainsaw was detained in Valencia Thursday after deputies pulled over a city bus on McBean Parkway.

Just before 1:40 p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station stopped a city bus on McBean Parkway after receiving reports of an individual wielding a chainsaw in a reportedly threatening manner, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.

“The suspect was exhibiting strange behavior, we didn’t get any information he was threatening anyone,” Miller said.

The passengers and driver of the bus were evacuated from the vehicle before taking the suspect into custody, according to officials on scene.

Officials on scene reportedly recovered the chainsaw, as well as a number of the suspect’s personal items, including several bottles of alcohol.

The suspect was detained for being drunk in public, but the investigation is still ongoing, Miller said.

No one was reportedly injured in connection with the incident.

  1. Are we still happy with props 47 and 57?? When will it be enough already.

  2. Hey, at least he took public transit and didn’t Dui. This fellow is the exact person who needs mental health help. Yes, I’d be scared but not dead. Hoping he gets help.

    • Yes! You’re correct, he needs mental help. I saw the Sheriffs laughing and joking and the photographers too. It was not right. I first thought he had stolen stuff. I felt they were all ridiculing him. We are all struggling with one thing or other. I wanted video tape it.
