Local California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting and a collision Thursday morning on a stretch of the 210 Freeway south of the Newhall Pass.

Officers responded around 3:42 a.m., when they received a series of 911 calls regarding a collision in the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway, between Roxford and Yarnell streets.
When officers arrived on scene, the victim notified the officers that he had been shot by passing motorcyclists. The victim had been shot in the arm, in a shooting that left a bullet-sized hole in the windshield of the victim’s pick-up truck and broke front driver’s side window.
The CHP officer requested Los Angeles Fire Department personnel to respond to the scene to treat the victim for his injury.
The victim was subsequently transported by LAFD to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
A suspect description was provided to LACC for broadcast to the surrounding CHP Areas and LAPD. The westbound I-210 is closed at Roxford St. to facilitate the investigation and 9mm casings have been located.
LAPD was contacted and given an opportunity to investigate the shooting incident, while officers closed the left-most westbound lanes of I-210 at 5:45 a.m. The westbound “slow” lane is closed to facilitate the investigation.
