Michael Barela, 54, faces the charge of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, which was identified as knife, said Ricardo Santiago , spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 23 for pretrial.

Barela was arrested for attempted murder outside of JJ’s Bar & Grill in Valencia on Feb. 25, 2015 after the alleged stabbing.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received a report of a stabbing at approximately 9:12 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2015 in the 25800 block of Tournament Road, according to Lt. Moulder of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in a previous story.

A witness close to the scene described a man with a knife walking around the restaurant and another man reportedly covered in blood.
