Valencia Man Arrested For Falsely Posing As Doctor In Ventura County

A Valencia man was arrested after he allegedly falsely posed as a doctor in Ventura County.

Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced Tuesday that Nitun “Nate” Dayalghai Ahir, 43, from Valencia was arraigned on Friday, March 28, 2025, on felony charges of unlicensed practice of medicine, fraudulent use of the terms “doctor” or “physician,” theft from an elder or dependent adult by a caretaker, and identity theft.

“Ahir is also charged with several aggravating factors, including that the victim was vulnerable and the defendant took advantage of a position of trust,” the Ventura District Attorney’s Office said.

Ahir pled not guilty to all charges, according to officials.

Ahir is alleged to have unlawfully practiced medicine without a license at Regen Spine and Nerve in Ventura, representing himself as a graduate of the Avalon University School of Medicine with specialties in neurology, neuropathy, chiropractic medicine, and gut health.

The felony complaint alleges that Ahir is unlicensed and unauthorized to practice any form of medicine in the State of California. Additionally, he is accused of using the personal identifying information of an elder or dependent adult to unlawfully obtain a line of credit without that person’s consent.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Andrew Reid, a member of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Special Prosecutions Consumer Protection Unit, is prosecuting the case.

Ahir is scheduled for an early disposition conference on May 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. The suspect posing as a false doctor was released on bail.

This case was investigated by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Health Quality Investigations Unit.

Authorities urge anyone who believes they have been victimized by Ahir to contact District Attorney Investigator Eric Jensen at [email protected] or by calling (805) 662-1739.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
