Deputies are investigating a grand theft after thousands of dollars in cash were reportedly stolen Tuesday.
Around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a grand theft call near Copper Hill Drive and Seco Canyon Road in Saugus, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Initial reports stated a suspect stole a backpack from a vehicle containing approximately $20k in cash.
However, as of Tuesday afternoon, deputies are still investigating the exact amount of currency stolen.
The suspected thief, described as a male Black approximately 25 years old, was last seen heading east in a GMC vehicle, per initial reports.
