Deputies Respond To Alleged Shots Fired Call In Saugus

Fireworks are alleged to be the culprit after deputies responded to a possible report of gunshots in a Saugus neighborhood Saturday morning.

Just before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of possible gunshots on the 28200 block of Timothy Drive in Saugus, just north of Plum Canyon Road.

Several other emergency departments also responded to the call in support of the Santa Clarita Deputies in case there was an active shooter situation, including a Los Angeles County Police Department helicopter to provide air support, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We arrived at 9:55, the call was from Santa Clarita Sheriff,” said Supervisor Rangel with the Fire department. “Someone reported hearing gunshots in the area.”

The noises heard by people living in the area were later stated to have been the result of fireworks being set off, per officials on scene.

No injuries were reported.

  1. Why do you report something like this when it was fireworks. Why would you post a photo of police in tactical gear. Why not a photo of fireworks? Why are you scaring people just so they will click on your story? There are many more stories in this 400,000+ person community than a non-story that potentially scares people . And, on a day that the community is trying to heal from events 1 year ago. Shame on you.
