Detectives Seek Public Assistance In Finding Canyon Country Drive-By Shooting Suspect

Detectives with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect believed to have been involved in a Canyon Country drive-by shooting back in 2015.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station COBRA detectives are reaching out to the public for assistance in locating a suspect wanted for an attempted murder that occurred in August of 2015, according to officials.

“It is detectives’ hope that by refreshing the case to the public, new leads can be developed that will lead them to the successful apprehension of a wanted fugitive,” wrote Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, in a Nixle alert Wednesday.

On August 28, 2015 at approximately 8 a.m., 30-year-old Kenneth Mitchell reportedly drove by a condo complex located on the 28000 block of Sarabande Lane in Canyon Country and fired a handgun at a male adult victim, striking him in the leg.

“The suspect then fled the scene, and has remained outstanding to this date,” Miller wrote.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Finn at (661) 255-1121 ext. 5153.

If residents prefer to provide information anonymously, they may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing 1-(800) 222-TIPS (8477), use their smartphone by downloading the “P3 Tips” Mobile App on Google play or the Apple App Store or by using the website here
