Driving under the influence remains at the top of Santa Clarita weekend arrests, according to official arrest records.
Between Friday, Aug. 19 to Saturday, Aug. 20, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office made 10 arrests, a decrease from last weekend’s 16, according to Santa Clarita weekend arrest logs.
Records were only up to date as of Saturday at 4:00 p.m. a shorter period than the usual weekend arrest time span, which may have contributed to the lower number of arrests.
Of the arrests made, there were three felony bookings which included domestic violence with a $50,000 bail, vandalism with a loss valued at more than $400 with a bail of $20,000, and possession of an assault weapon with a bail amount of $35,000.
Other arrests that made the log included six driving under the influence (DUI), and one for drugs.
According to booking logs, of the arrests made, five had addresses within the Santa Clarita Valley while the other five had outside addresses.
