Although weekend arrests have dropped compared to Halloween weekend, alcohol and drug-related crimes are once again the most common in Santa Clarita Weekend arrest records.
With only 10 arrests on record between Friday, Nov. 4 and Sunday, Nov. 7, the total number of arrests in Santa Clarita experienced a major drop compared to 19 on Halloween weekend.
Most arrests in the Santa Clarita Valley consisted of drug or alcohol related crimes, with eight offenses recorded by both Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials.
Of the arrests, only two were felony arrests, one for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one for corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, according to arrest logs.
Those arrested were split evenly between local residents and those living outside of the Santa Clarita Valley, including a resident of Barre, Vermont.
