A wanted felony suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint at the Castaic Rodeway Inn Monday morning, officials said.

At about 9:15 a.m., a sergeant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Park Bureau spotted the suspect at the Rodeway Inn on the 31500 block of Castaic Road, according to Lt. Andrew Dahring with the Parks Bureau.

“The sergeant was in the area and was being proactive,” Dahring said.

After locating the suspect at the Castaic motel, the sergeant then called for backup from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect, wanted for two felony warrants for traffic violations and theft out of Tulare County, was taken into custody without incident, according to Sheriff’s officials.
