On Tuesday, law enforcement officials engaged in four separate pursuits in and around the Santa Clarita Valley, resulting in multiple arrests.
Four different pursuits occurred around Santa Clarita on Tuesday, leading to multiple arrests.
The first pursuit came after officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Office attempted to stop the driver of a dark Kia wanted for reaching speeds of 130 mph on the northbound 14 Freeway.
The suspect reportedly exited and then attempted to re-enter the northbound 14 Freeway at Soledad Canyon Road, at which point she trashed into the nearby dirt, according to officials on scene.
Aireanna Reid, 20, of Carson, was arrested on charges of evading police and reckless endangerment, and is being held on $75,000 bail.
The second pursuit began shortly after that northbound on the 14 Freeway near Sand Canyon, with a CHP motorcycle pursuing the vehicle due to speeds reaching 90 mph.
The suspect’s vehicle reportedly refused to yield until other police units joined in the pursuit, leading to an arrest and a subsequent release on citation.
Around the same time, a third pursuit came after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a stolen pickup truck alongside the 5 Freeway, with a man in the driver’s seat.
“The deputy observed the vehicle drive away, in which the suspect eventually abandoned the vehicle on a dirt road,” said Deputy Natalie Arriaga with the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect reportedly fled the car on foot, and was later discovered in a “muddy trench.”
“We had a visual of the suspect walking on the Freeway near Templin,” said CHP Officer Josh Greengard. “The suspect ran from us.”
Andres Jimenez, 22, of Pacoima, was arrested for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and has been released on bond as of Wednesday morning.
After taking the suspect into custody, officials found paperwork that showed the suspect was arrested for being in a stolen vehicle a few days ago, said Deputy Arriaga.
The fourth pursuit occurred around 6 p.m. on Seco Canyon Road in Saugus, reportedly due to the suspect’s vehicle driving recklessly and potentially driving under the influence.
The pursuit ended when deputies lost sight of the suspect’s car after turning onto Copper Hill Drive, according to Deputy Arriaga.
