Granada Hills Man Arrested In Valencia For Alleged Possession Of Narcotics Paraphernalia

A man from Granada Hills was arrested Tuesday for allegedly possessing narcotics paraphernalia after deputies reportedly saw the man exhibit “suspicious behavior.”

At around noon Tuesday, deputies were patrolling through the Valencia Industrial area when they spotted a Honda Accord parked along Avenue Tibbetts, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Being parked there wasn’t the issue — but what caught the deputies’ eyes was the suspicious behavior exhibited by the driver when he spotted them,” Miller wrote in an official post Thursday. “He seemed like he wanted to reverse and maneuver his car as quick as possible to escape.”

After deputies reportedly observed a vehicle code violation, they “took the opportunity” to inform the driver, according to Miler.

“It turned out the man didn’t have a valid driver’s license and was in possession of narcotics paraphernalia,” Miller wrote. “A hypodermic needle was also spotted on the ground near the vehicle.”

The 25-year-old man from Granada Hills was arrested for driving on a suspended license and on narcotics charges, and was transported and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Jail.

“We don’t want anyone coming to SCV, hanging out and engaging in illegal activity,” Miller wrote. “This is our community and we’re here to keep it safe for all.”
