Two grand theft suspects were taken into custody Tuesday, after they allegedly stole tires from a Valencia business that were later found on their vehicle’s roof.

Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 28100 block of Avenue Crocker in Valencia regarding a grand theft call, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. 

“It was reported that a male adult was stealing tires from a closed business,” Borbon said. 

Upon the deputies arrival, a vehicle was leaving the location with tires on the roof, according to Sheriff’s officials.  

“The deputies conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and detained the two male adults in the vehicle,” Borbon said. 

During the investigation and search of the vehicle, deputies recovered the tires and also found drug paraphernalia, narcotics and burglary tools, according to Borbon. 

Grisha Pashyan, 46, a transient, and Arbi Abnousian, 42, from Sun Valley were both arrested for felony grand theft and drug related charges, according to officials. 

Both suspects were booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remain in custody as of Thursday morning, according to Borbon.
