The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) is reminding the public to not drive high on April 20th, or any other day of the year.
While April 20, or better known as 4/20, is celebrated throughout the country, the LASD is reminding drivers that sober driving never takes a break.
“April 20 is widely recognized, but safety on our roadways is every day. Driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal and puts lives at risk,” officials with the LASD said. “Driving high slows reaction time, affects judgment, and can have serious consequences for you and everyone on the road.”
For those who decide to celebrate, the LASD urges you to have a sober ride home, or to use RideShare services.
“Don’t drive baked or get booked,” LASD officials concluded.
