Santos Martinez, 38, a transient, pleaded no contest to one felony count of false imprisonment and a misdemeanor violation of child molesting.
As part of an agreement with prosecutors, he will serve 364 days in jail and five years of formal probation. Martinez must also complete three months of a live-in alcohol treatment program and three more months in an outpatient treatment program. He will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years once he is released.
On June 5, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a report of a middle-aged man who allegedly accosted a teenage girl in a Santa Clarita parking lot.
Martinez allegedly approached the girl asking for her name and phone number, according to Sgt. Michael Konecny from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Martinez then allegedly began “bear-hugging” the victim, and dragging her more than 30 feet across the parking lot. Witnesses in the Canyon Country parking lot heard the screaming, and immediately intervened, according to Konecny.
The suspect then fled down a nearby alley, where deputies arrested him.
“He’s being charged with kidnapping and annoying children,” said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Officials confirmed Martinez was intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

Sentenced to a year and will probably do six months. Hopefully his next victim will be the daughter of a prosecutor or judge so they will take things more serious.
